ZAGREB, Aug 29 (Hina) - Croatian parliament president Zlatko Tomcic on Friday received the outgoing Apostolic Nuncio Giulio Einaudi, parliament said in a statement.

Tomcic thanked Msgr. Einaudi for his cooperation to date, recalling
that he was a diplomat with one of the longest terms of office in
Croatia during which Croatia and the Vatican signed a number of
agreements. He was also grateful the Holy Father closely followed
developments in Croatia.
Msgr. Einaudi voiced confidence Croatia would continue to build a
democratic society and keep on preserving Christian values, which
he said was one of the reasons John Paul II had a special
relationship with Croatia, as evidenced by his recent third visit
to the country.
Einaudi wished Croatia success in integrating into European
structures.
