At its first session after the summer break last night, the Albanian
parliament adopted a statement decrying the declaration on Kosovo
as "a hazardous return to the unsuccessful nationalist policy" that
led to violence during the fall of the former Yugoslavia and
seriously jeopardised the entire region's stability.
"Such a groundless declaration is not in keeping with UN Security
Council Resolution 1244 or stances of the international community
and the UNMIK (UN Mission to Kosovo)," the statement reads.
