Cacic recalled that Croatia had sent a letter to the government of
Bosnia-Herzegovina stating its intention to participate in the
construction of a highway known as Corridor 5C, which will run from
the Hungarian capital of Budapest via Bosnia-Herzegovina to the
southern Croatian seaport of Ploce.
He repeated that the Croatian government was ready to finance the
drawing up of a minimum of project documents with seven to nine
million US dollars.
"It is evident from the geographical shape of Croatia and Bosnia-
Herzegovina that the corridor will integrate the two countries and
connect eastern and southern parts of Croatia," the minister said,
adding that "it is our vital interest to implement this project".
He called for a transparent international tender, and said that
Croatia could support its companies with government guarantees,
tax facilities, loan subsidies and other incentives.
