METKOVIC MAYOR RESIGNS TO HIS POST AS HEAD OF HDZ TOWN BRANCH

METKOVIC, Aug 27 (Hina) - Members of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) in the Town Council of Metkovic stated at a news conference on Wednesday that mayor Stipe Gabric Jambo resigned to his post as president of the HDZ's town branch yesterday. #L# Nine members of the Town Council, including its president, followed Gabric's decision, making their mandates in the Town Council available. HDZ town councillors believe that a proposal that Gabric be ousted from the HDZ is unfounded. A senior HDZ body should decide about Gabric's ousting on Thursday.
