MOSTAR'S OLD BRIDGE ON SUNDAY MOSTAR, Aug 25 (Hina) - More than 20 divers from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro gathered on Sunday in Mostar, southern Bosnia-Herzegovina, to participate in a diving competition held
traditionally at the city's mediaeval bridge - the so-called Old Bridge. The bridge, destroyed by Croat artillery during the Croat-Muslim war in the autumn of 1993, was reconstructed last week.
MOSTAR, Aug 25 (Hina) - More than 20 divers from Bosnia-Herzegovina
and Serbia and Montenegro gathered on Sunday in Mostar, southern
Bosnia-Herzegovina, to participate in a diving competition held
traditionally at the city's mediaeval bridge - the so-called Old
Bridge.
The bridge, destroyed by Croat artillery during the Croat-Muslim
war in the autumn of 1993, was reconstructed last week. #L#
The winner in the swallow-dive category is Lorens Listo, while
Ermin Zukanovic won in the feet-first dive category.
A special attraction of this year's competition were show dives.
The most challenging, 30-metre dive was made by a member of the
Stabilisation Force stationed in the Mostar area.
The competition was attended by several dozen thousands of Mostar
residents, including the city's mayor and his deputy.
