PRISTINA, Aug 25 (Hina) - The latest attacks in Kosovo represent an
escalation of a new wave of violence against the remaining Serb
population and if such actions continue, Serbia has the legitimate
right to send its army to Kosovo and defend its people, the head of
the Serb National Council of Western Kosovo, Milan Ivanovic, said

In an interview with a local Serb radio station in Gracanica,
Ivanovic accused the U.N. administration in the province of not
doing enough to prevent violence.
"They have practically contributed to the escalation of violence
with false estimates and failure to take action," Ivanovic said.
Two Serb youths were killed and several children were wounded in an
attack in the village of Gorazdevac on August 13.
Milanovic said that the terrorist attacks coincided with claims
made by the Albanian National Army (ANA), which had a logistical
base in the (regular) Kosovo Protection Corps. In mid-August, ANA
claimed responsibility for an attack on Serb police officers on the
border between Serbia and Kosovo.
If "terrorist actions and the killing of Serbs in Kosovo continue",
Serbia "has the legitimate right, guaranteed by all international
charters" to mobilise its troops and enter Kosovo "to protect its
people and territory", Ivanovic warned.
