Eighteen people have been charged with conspiracy to commit hostile
activity and 15 persons have been indicted for the murder of Zoran
Djindjic on March 21 and terrorism, the statement said.
Some of the accused will answer for a number of crimes - 39 people
have been charged with conspiracy to commit criminal acts, and 14
have been charged with three cases of abduction and other
felonies.
Rade Bulatovic, former security advisor of the ex-president of
Yugoslavia, Vojislav Kostunica, has been acquitted on the basis of
"adequate legal reasons," the statement said.
The case of Vojislav Seselj, indicted by the UN war crimes tribunal
in The Hague, has been separated from the others. Seselj was
recently questioned in Scheveningen prison by investigators from
Belgrade.
The Serbian prosecution forwarded the case to the special
department of the Belgrade County Court and suggested that some of
the accused be tried in absentia.
Apart from the primary suspect, Lukovic, 16 other people from the
indictment are on the run.
