Monday arrived in the city of Sirt for a five-day visit to Libya. Immediately upon his arrival he held talks with Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi. After the meeting, held in a tent in front of Gaddafi's residence, Mesic told reporters he had informed his Libyan counterpart about the situation in south-eastern Europe, the stabilisation of Croatia's economy after the war and relations with neighbours. The talks also addressed business cooperation, he added. Mesic said Libya was planning the construction of 4,000 kilometres of railways, in which Croatian companies could be very interested. The Libyan president was unavailable to Croatian reporters. Some 40 Croatian business people, who are accompanying Mesic on his visit, will discuss economic cooperation with
