ZAGREB, July 7 (Hina) - The Croatian government is more determined
to resolve the remaining political issues pertaining to the mandate
of the OSCE Mission to Croatia, the Organisation for Security and

on Monday, the Foreign Ministry has said in a statement. #L#
Semneby informed Simonovic about the Mission's semi-annual report
on Croatia's progress in the period between November 2002 and July
2003, reads the statement.
The greatest progress was made in defining a legislative and
administrative framework for the return of refugees, which also
provides for the return of people who lost their tenancy rights, and
in adopting a constitutional law on minority rights, the statement
said.
The positively worded report also notes the government's increased
determination to solve the remaining political issues pertaining
to the mandate of the OSCE Mission.
Simonovic believes that the favourable tone of the report is
important in light of the beginning of discussions about the OSCE's
mandate in Croatia in the budget year 2004.
The OSCE's report is important for the evaluation of Croatia's
application for EU membership by the European Commission, the
statement said.
