ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - A final bill of amendments to the law on highlands, which envisages the granting of same benefits to towns and municipalities in such areas as those given to war-stricken regions, was unanimously supported by
party benches in the Croatian parliament on Friday.

MPs voiced satisfaction with the fact that lower taxes would in
future be paid by residents in highland areas.
Thus, the non-taxable part of the income would increase from 1,750
to 2,250 kuna, and companies would pay a 25 percent lower profit tax
than in other regions.
