Parliamentary representatives from 34 countries that are members
of EUREKA - the European programme of co-operation in the field of
industry- and market-oriented research and innovation - stressed
the importance of an initiative launched by European leaders to
increase, by 2010, funds for research and development so they would
account for three per cent of the Gross Domestic Product.
