at clearing doubts about command responsibility in international
and domestic law, started in Zagreb Friday. #L#
The conference pooled some 100 Croatian and Serbian legal experts,
theorists, judges, state prosecutors, representatives of Croatian
Army, police and institutions in charge of cooperation with the UN
war crimes tribunal at The Hague, as well as the tribunal's
associates.
During the two-day event, experts will try to remove doubts about
command responsibility particularly in the domestic legislation,
considering that the mandate of the ICTY prosecution expires next
year, while the tribunal will close in five years.
The conference was organised by the Fund for Humanitarian Law from
Belgrade and the Croatian Association for Criminal Sciences and
Practice from Zagreb, in cooperation with the ICTY and with the
support of the Danish government.
The Zagreb meeting is the continuation of a conference organised
three weeks ago in Belgrade.
