Tomac today visited the permanent Croatian mission to the United
Nations in New York, where he held talks with temporary charge
d'affaires Zoran Bosnjak.
Tomac, who also chairs the parliamentary committee on foreign
affairs, said Croatia had to be principled and uniform in its
foreign policy and to fight for the international legal order.
He stressed the role of the U.N., saying all members should be equal
in decision-making and in strengthening multilateral relations for
the benefit of the world order.
Tomac said it was important for Croatia to join the European Union
in the next enlargement round.
Speaking about Croatia's application for becoming a non-standing
member of the Security Council in 2008, Bosnjak said entry into the
"world government" would considerably contribute to Croatia's
international reputation.
