ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - The Liberal Party (LS) does not rule out the
possibility of leaving the ruling coalition, but it is acting in
line with procedure and order because it is comprised of "polite and
responsible people," president Ivo Banac said on Monday. #L#
"LS never behaves as impolitely and irresponsibly as many behave
towards us," Banac told the press outlining the conclusions of the
party's main committee meeting -- dissatisfaction with the
situation and the party's standing in the ruling coalition.
Banac said the LS' objective was to surmount the crisis and tyranny
between the two camps and create "a third Croatia", which he said
had been presented by the founder of the Liberals, the late Vlado
Gotovac.
Asked if he felt uncomfortable for accusing the Croatian People's
Party of corruption and the Social Democrats of incompetence, Banac
said he was proving his claims constantly.
