ZAGREB, June 20 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan said on Friday he was pleased his Slovene counterpart Anton Rop had denied a statement to the effect that Slovenia would make support to Croatia's bids to join the EU conditional on completion of succession to socialist Yugoslavia. #L# "I'm glad the statement was denied," Racan told the press in the government, adding Rop had rung him from Thessaloniki. Racan said he had been very surprised by Rop's statement, especially after people in Europe he had spoken to had said Slovenia's statements about Croatia were good and fair. "Relations with neighbours can easily be spoiled, so every such statement should be checked," Racan said. (hina) ha
