Saturday changed the party Statute, extending the terms of office
of the party president and bodies from two to four years. #L#
The provision will go into force after the party's Ninth General
Assembly next year.
Changes to the HDZ Statute were adopted without debate and
unanimously at the Eighth General Assembly in Zagreb today.
Also incorporated in the Statute was a provision whereby an HDZ
member may be ousted from the party if he or she damages the party's
political interests or reputation.
The amended Statute also envisages that the party's election lists
will be compiled by the HDZ Presidency instead of the Head
Committee.
