The Convention enables a country-signatory to request another
country to start proceedings against a suspect on its behalf. In
2003 Croatia has ratified nine and signed five legal instruments of
the Council of Europe, which strengthen Croatia's legal system in
line with European standards.
The Convention is important because it facilitates criminal
proceedings on the implementation level and the fight against
trans-national organised crime and corruption.
