ZAGREB, June 11 (Hina) - A total of 330,882 people were registered as unemployed with the Croatian Employment Bureau (HZZ) at the end of May, down 4.2 percent from April, HZZ said on its Internet site on Wednesday.

In May 16,563 people found jobs, one percent more than in April.
Another 11,955 were deleted from HZZ files for other reasons, which
makes for 42.2 percent more deletions than in April.
Last month 14,106 people reported to the Bureau looking for jobs, up
1.3 percent from April.
The number of allowance beneficiaries dropped 4.3 percent to 68,617
in May, or 20.7 percent of all unemployed registered with the HZZ.
On the annual level, the number of the jobless at the end of this May
was down 16 percent from May 2002. The number of the newly
registered with the HZZ was down 15.4 percent, of those who found
employment was down 16.7 percent, and that of those deleted from HZZ
records was 14.9 percent higher. The number of unemployed receiving
allowance dropped 19.4 percent.
