The culture ministry last month accepted an initiative of the town
to found a city of culture event in the country, on the model of
Europe's tradition, and that Sibenik should be honoured first with
the title because of several significant investments into culture,
concern for cultural monuments and historical heritage, as well as
various cultural events.
