"I am not guilty, honourable court," Radic said during the
arraignment on charges of murder, inhumane and cruel treatment,
inflicting severe suffering, crimes against humanity, grave
infractions of the Geneva conventions and violations of the law and
customs of war.
Captain Miroslav Radic, 41, was extradited to the tribunal last
Saturday. He surrendered to Serbian police in mid-April.
Radic has been indicted for the murder of more than 200 Croatians at
Ovcara farm in Croatia, along with two officers of the ex-Yugoslav
People's Army (JNA), Mile Mrksic and Veselin Sljivancanin.
Mrksic surrendered to the tribunal a year ago, while Sljivancanin
is still at large. Sljivancanin is one of the most wanted ICTY
suspects, along with former Bosnian Serb leaders Radovan Karadzic
and Ratko Mladic.
