BELGRADE, May 17 (Hina) - The defence attorney of ICTY indictee
Miroslav Radic, who was extradited to the Hague tribunal on
Saturday morning, said his client would enter a plea of not guilty
on Monday or Tuesday. #L#
Lawyer Borivoje Borovic told Belgrade's agency Beta that he hoped
the ICTY prosecution would drop charges against his client.
Radic is one of the so-called "Vukovar Three", a trio of former
Yugoslav army officers indicted for the 1991 atrocity committed
during Croatia's war for independence from Yugoslavia.
Radic's attorney said that his client's transfer to the Hague was
kept in secret due to security reasons.
Radic surrendered to Serbian authorities last month and agreed to
be handed over to the court.
Another member of the Vukovar Three, Mile Mrksic, surrendered to
the tribunal last spring while a third, Veselin Sljivancanin
remains at large.
