Assistant Justice Minister Slobodan Ljubisic told Hina that an
extended deadline for national minority members to check and
possibly change information on their ethnic background on the lists
of voters expired at midnight today.
The ministry has also issued instructions according to which it
will be possible to change information on voters' lists on the day
of elections only in exceptional cases.
Ljubisic said that this decision had been made because they had
taken into consideration a warning by the Bosniak national
community that a large number of voters on lists who were registered
as Muslims might not be able to vote for Bosniak councils, as well as
the stances of the government and the National Electoral Council
that Muslims who state they are Bosniaks on the day of the ballot
should be allowed to vote for Bosniak councils and
representatives.
