The council was set up a month ago at the incentive of the
Partnership for Social Development association. It is comprised of
Damir Kajin of the Istrian Democratic Assembly, Vesna Skare-Ozbolt
of the Democratic Centre, Djurdja Adlesic of the Social Liberals,
Zlatko Kramaric of the Liberal Party, Jozo Rados of Libra, and Tonci
Tadic of the Croatian Party of Rights.
Talking to reporters after the closed-door session of the council,
Partnership for Social Development president Munir Podumljak said
the association's task was to follow and document cases of
corruption, inform the public about them and its rights in the
prevention of corruption.
In line with their commitment of a month ago, the MPs have prepared
six laws relying on the association's anti-corruption programme,
said Podumljak.
Asked if the parties which are not represented in the council -- the
Social Democrats, the Croatian Peasant Party, the Croatian
People's Party, the Croatian Democratic Union -- had expressed
interest to join, Podumljak answered in the negative, but added
everyone had been invited.
