"I personally knew the general in various phases of his life and
until the very end of his life, General Bobetko and I had a high
level of mutual respect for each other despite out political
differences," Premier Racan said in Zagreb after returning from an
official visit to Hungary.
He added that virtually everything was known about General Bobetko,
from the fact that he was an anti-Fascist fighter and that he was a
reputable commander in the Croatian army in the Homeland War.
Racan personally does not see any reason why General Bobetko should
not be buried with full military honours that he deserved as a high
ranking army official.
