Colak, who was nominated by the party's presidency, won 393 votes,
while his opponent Zoran Maric won 102.
Dragan Covic, Niko Lozancic, and Anto Spajic were elected vice
presidents.
In the 13-year-long history of the HDZ BH, Colak is the party's
eighth president.
Speaking to reporters, Colak announced the party would work more
efficiently, and admitted to difficulties in the enforcement of the
leadership's decisions.
Colak, who also holds the office of security minister in the Bosnian
government, said it was necessary to shed light on the recent
disappearance of Croatian passports from Croatia's consulate in
Mostar, where they ended up, and find out who was responsible.
Responding to a journalist's question, Colak declined to comment on
the Croatian government's recent decision to turn over
documentation on the activity of the late Gojko Susak, Croatia's
former defence minister, to the Hague war crimes tribunal.
