ZAGREB ARCHBISHOP CELEBRATES EASTER SUNDAY MASS

ZAGREB, April 20 (Hina) - The archbishop of Zagreb, Msgr. Josip Bozanic, conducted the Easter Sunday mass at the Zagreb Cathedral. #L# Addressing the gathered, Bozanic said the resurrection of Jesus was the foundation and essence of the church's preaching, giving meaning to Christianity. The resurrected Christ calls on us to re-examine life and history from the perspective of God, not man. Christ's life was a life of love, available to God and his neighbours from its beginning to the end, Bozanic said. The world often does not understand that life, it ridicules and rejects it, and those who live by it are condemned. The resurrected Christ teaches us that we should not worry about the condemnation of the life dedicated to the well-being of others, to the poor and those in need, Bozanic said, calling on the faithful to testify with their lives to the news and renewing power of Christian Easter. Zagreb auxiliary bishops Vlado Kosic and Josip Mrzljak and apostolic nuncio Giulio Einaudi assisted Msgr. Bozanic in conducting the Easter Sunday mass. (hina) rml
