"Changes to a number of laws have helped create conditions for
police to carry on with their investigation, and the state of
emergency could be lifted next week," Zivkovic said.
Commenting on Vojvodina's League of Social Democrats leader Nenad
Canak's statement that former Yugoslav President Vojislav
Kostunica was connected with Djindjic's murder, Zivkovic said that
"any party leader who is proven to have politically instigated the
murder will be considered liable".
"No one has ever said that Kostunica could be brought in. However,
if anyone is proven to be in connection with anyone from any mobster
clan and if that connection can be considered as instigation to
commit a criminal act, an arrest will be made," Zivkovic said.
