The union's Executive Committee said at a session on Monday the
agreement, to be signed by employers' representatives, would be
later extended to include all media subjects in the country.
Protecting journalists' and media workers' rights with a
collective agreement will be one of the main topics of a symbolic
protest called "Five Minutes of Thunderous Silence", to be held on
World Media Freedom Day, May 3, from 11:55 am to noon.
Other topics include the basic social rights of part-time employees
and the protection of the journalists' right to professional
dignity.
