BELGRADE, April 11 (Hina) - The European Union's High Representative for the Common Security and Foreign Policy, Javier Solana, on Friday wrapped up his two-day visit to Belgrade expressing his satisfaction with what the authorities
of Serbia-Montenegro were doing in their bids to come closer to Europe as well as with an investigation the local authorities launched after the assassination of Serbian Premier Zoran Djindjic.
BELGRADE, April 11 (Hina) - The European Union's High
Representative for the Common Security and Foreign Policy, Javier
Solana, on Friday wrapped up his two-day visit to Belgrade
expressing his satisfaction with what the authorities of Serbia-
Montenegro were doing in their bids to come closer to Europe as well
as with an investigation the local authorities launched after the
assassination of Serbian Premier Zoran Djindjic. #L#
He reiterated that the new state union could count on the full
support and assistance to be offered by the European Union.
On Friday morning, Solana held talks with Montenegrin Premier Milo
Djukanovic and the president of Serbia-Montenegro, Svetozar
Marovic, who after the talks with the EU official expressed hope
that the integration of the new union in Europe would be one of major
topics of an EU summit in Salonika, set for June.
Upon his arrival in Belgrade on Thursday evening, Solana met with
Serbian Premier Zoran Zivkovic, Vice Premier Nebojsa Covic who is
in charge of Kosovo, as well as defence and foreign ministers of
Serbia-Montenegro, Boris Tadic and Goran Svilanovic
respectively.
