Racan said that this year's June would show good results in highway
construction because June is when two sections of the highway and
two at the Zagreb-Split highway are expected to open. He said that
after the results, Croatian construction could turn to more
important tasks abroad.
The highway construction is financed by long-term loans of
international development banks and multilateral financial
institutions with a government collateral. The loans will be paid
back from road tolls.
The Croatian government is financially participating in the
construction of some of the sections. Favourable international
loans are the result of Croatia's good credit rating, said Racan.
