ZAGREB, April 1 (Hina) - A commission for co-ordinating financial support to programmes of Croatian minorities in neighbouring countries and other states and to Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina on Tuesday held its founding session under
the chairmanship of Premier Ivica Racan in the government's offices.

The Croatian government is going to financially back education,
cultural, scientific, health and sports projects selected
according to a public invitation which will be announced tomorrow
(April 2) and be open until 5 May.
The funds will be ensured for reconstruction, equipment and
construction of educational institutions, organisation of classes
in the mother tongue, and preservation of cultural monuments, the
renovation of heritage in the Croatian language and support to
sports events.
It is envisaged that 25 million kuna (approx. 3.25 million euros)
will be secured for projects of Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina, 10
million kuna for ethnic Croats in Serbia and Montenegro, Slovenia,
Macedonia, Hungary, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia,
Romania and Bulgaria. The number of ethnic Croats in those
countries range between four to 90 thousand, Racan said.
