Kostunica told a news conference that this was "the least
unfavourable solution" after the assassination of Prime Minister
Zoran Djindjic.
According to him, "it is too difficult at this moment for somebody
to assume responsibility by themselves", and consultations should
be conducted with all parliamentary and some non-parliamentary
parties wishing to become involved in the work of a new government.
The DSS will not support any other solution, Kostunica said.
Kostunica also criticised the introduction of a state of emergency
saying it had been imposed under a law adopted after the
demonstrations in March 1991 and put out of force when the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia was constituted in 1992.
