the United States for the war in Iraq, according to a poll carried
out just ahead of the attack on Iraq. #L#
Sixty percent of those interviewed oppose the government's
decision, while 26% support it. Sixteen percent of those supporting
the decision are in favour of it on condition it has benefits for
Croatia.
The poll was conducted by the GFK market research centre on a sample
of 1,000 adult citizens (15 years of age and older) and the results
were collected through personal interviews.
The government has allowed overflights by the United States'
civilian aircraft and their supply with fuel at Croatian air bases,
but not the landing of coalition soldiers.
