The crisis committee was established by the government at its
sitting on February 27.
Today's session was chaired by Prime Minister Ivica Racan and
attended by ministers, members of this body, as well as the HEP
power supply company's CEO, Ivo Covic, the INA oil company's CEO,
Tomislav Dragicevic, and the CEO of the JANAF Adriatic pipeline,
Vesna Trnokop-Tanta.
Reiterating the government's stands on the Iraqi crisis, Racan
voiced Croatia's readiness to support any solution aimed at ceasing
the war, the statement says.
Croatia, as part of the counter-terrorist coalition and under the
aegis of the UN, is also prepared to join the post-war rebuilding of
Iraq and offer humanitarian assistance.
Ministers suggested some additional security steps.
Croatia is fully braced to respond to challenges which may arise
from the development of the situation in Iraq, participants of the
session agreed and concluded that they would continue to follow and
analyse the situation.
At this moment, Croatia is under no direct danger of terrorism, they
