MOSTAR DETERIORATING MOSTAR, March 12 (Hina) - Officials at the interior ministry of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton in southern Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday told reporters in Mostar that the security situation in the canton was
deteriorating.

Canton Interior Minister Goran Bilic said that eight murders had
been committed in the canton in the past four months. Four murders
were committed in Mostar and another four in Konjic, which the
minister said was a warning to the executive, judicial and
legislative authorities.
Apart from these murders, explosions have been quite frequent in
Mostar.
The Office of the High Representative in Mostar expressed concern
about the latest incidents in the Mostar area.
The office has called on the local government, particularly the
cantonal interior ministry, to urgently and efficiently
investigate the latest incidents.
