announced his intention to nominate Ralph Frank as ambassador to

Frank is a career diplomat, currently head of the State
Department's personnel office. Before that, Frank was ambassador
to Nepal.
Frank was also assistant to the U.S. State Secretary in the
personnel office, and offices for administration and for
diplomatic security. His previous appointments in diplomacy also
include service in various positions in embassies in Kathmandu,
Warsaw and Belgrade.
