Also present at the opening were William Jeffers, director of the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission
to Croatia, which helped wrap the reconstruction that had taken
almost seven years, as well as town and county officials.
About three million kuna (EUR395,000) has been invested in the
reconstruction of the facility to date. The reconstruction
ministry has financed construction and the Americans donated
608,500 kuna (EUR80,100) for equipment.
Through the USAID, the U.S. government has helped reconstruction in
Drnis with US$2 million to date, while the reconstruction ministry
has invested 300 million kuna (EUR39.5 million).
Ambassador Rossin said in the future more funds would be donated for
the economy, while Cacic announced the reconstruction of a
secondary school and the construction of 16 apartment buildings.
