ZAGREB, March 7 (Hina) - Unemployment in February fell by 1.2 percent in comparison to January and dropped by 12.5 percent in comparison to February 2002, according to the Croatian Employment Office.

At the end of February this year, 362,608 Croatians were on the dole
or 4,510 less than in January or 51,810 less than in February last
year, office head Sanja Crnkovic-Pozaic said at a news conference
on Friday.
The figures show that the trend of decreased unemployment, which
was only interrupted in January with a rise in the number of the
jobless, is still present.
"A fall in unemployment in February as against January is even more
significant in light of the fact that in recent years there was an
increase in the number of the jobless in that period," Crnkovic-
Pozaic said.
