ZAGREB, March 3 (Hina) - Employment in Croatia was on the decline in January for the fifth consecutive month. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, in January Croatia had 1,325,478 employed persons, with a 0.6 percent fall
(or by 8,277 persons) in comparison to the number of employees in December 2002.

In January, there were 367,118 registered jobless persons or by 0.3
percent more than in December.
The unemployment rate this January was 21.7 percent compared to
21.5 percent-rate in the previous month.
