Lucija Debeljuh said the SDP MPs experienced Krpina's address as
national intolerance and insulting on ethnic grounds.
Branka Baletic said that for some opposition MPs it had become
normal to insult others on national or gender grounds.
She and Jadranka Reihl-Kir expressed regret at chair Ivica
Kostovic's failure to react to Krpina's insults, which they said
had been made in the past as well.
The incident occurred during a debate on conflict of interest
prevention bills.
MPs murmured in disapproval when Krpina mispronounced Opacic's
name, to which he responded, making insinuations about the
communist regime, by asking whether the party was nervous.
