The situation in the world is dramatic with neoliberalism trying to
create a new world order in view of getting to free markets, said
Supek. To that end new wars are started, yesterday against
Afghanistan, tomorrow against Iraq, he added, reproaching the
authorities for signing the Vilnius document and trampling on the
U.N. charter which defines a just war.
Supek said the recent protests in Zagreb against the Vilnius
document had saved Croatia's honour.
Peace and democracy are the greatest values one must aspire to, he
said, concluding the Movement for Democracy and Social Justice must
give more support to all non-governmental organisations.
Supek was the association's honorary president who was elected
president after Dusan Bilandzic resigned.
