He spoke to Hina about his talks in Rome with Paolo Scarpa Bonazza
Buoro, under-secretary at the Italian farming and forestry
ministry.
Ship movements may be followed by satellite thanks to the "blue box"
system, which Italy already has, which will help determine the
exact position of a vessel in relation to territorial waters'
borders, Kraljevic said.
He added the two countries would jointly decide whether and what
steps to take against a ship that eventually crossed into the other
country's waters.
The ambassador said representatives of the two countries'
competent ministries should come up with a complete project for the
protection of the Adriatic this year, before a Euro-Mediterranean
conference set to take place in Venice at the end of the year.
The project should be approved in Zagreb and become the model for
the Mediterranean region, Kraljevic said, adding Buoro was hopeful
Croatia and Italy would cooperate as equal European Union members.
