ROME/ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - Croatian Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac and associates held talks in Rome on Friday with his Italian counterpart Giulio Tremonti and representatives of the Italian ministry of production and several banks
and agencies interested in economic cooperation with Croatia.

The two sides concluded Croatia's recent application for European
Union membership had opened possibilities to further advance
bilateral cooperation, Croatia's finance ministry said in a
statement.
The talks focused on the experience of Italy and other EU nations in
the tax stimulation of activities in research, development,
technological progress and education.
The two sides agreed on cooperation between the Croatian Regional
Development Fund and Italy's regional development agencies, as
well as those in the EU.
The talks also discussed Italy's experience with so-called fiscal
treasuries and their introduction in Croatia.
