The union neither stopped the strike nor was it banned by a court so
hospital doctors will continue carrying badges reading "strike" as
well as new ones, reading "compulsory work", Babic told Hina.
The union leader said doctors' demands remained the same as during
the strike: the signing of a branch collective agreement, the
protection of acquired rights, and an increase in the basic salary
of doctors with passed state examinations to two average salaries
in Croatia (7,000 kuna), as well as an increase in the salaries of
specialists to two and a half average salaries (around 9,000
kuna).
Babic said the union was ready for a compromise solution and the
possibility of having their demands met within a reasonable period
of time.
