"I do not know where a more democratic law model exists. Show me one
and the government will abandon its motion," Vujic told MPs.
He added that the bill did not leave room for any doubts regarding
the election of 11 members of the Programme Council, because
representatives of the civil society, who were nominated for
council members by renowned civil associations, were approved by
the same associations.
Speaking about requests by the Croatian Peasants Party (HSS) and
Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) that the moved transitional
provisions be changed, Vujic said the government's stance was that
the issue should be resolved in the best possible way.
According to the provisions, the HRT director could by will elect
the acting editor-in-chief for an indeterminate amount of time,
until new editors are elected under the new law.
