FUNDS FOR DEFENCE OF 'GOSPIC GROUP' CONTINUE TO BE COLLECTED

GOSPIC, Feb 10 (Hina) - Over the past two years, the centre for the protection of the Homeland War's dignity of Lika-Senj County has collected 1,073,000 kuna (EUR143,000) for the financing of a team of attorneys defending the so-called Gospic Group standing a war crimes trial in Rijeka. #L# Numerous residents of the Lika region and other Croatian regions have become involved in the action, as have certain business people and Croatian emigrants (especially from Germany, Canada, Australia and the United States). At Monday's meeting held at the office of county prefect Milan Jurkovic, representatives of towns and municipalities in Lika-Senj County and county businessmen with members of the county's centre for the protection of the Homeland War's dignity agreed to continue collecting money for the financing of the team of attorneys and for providing care for the defendants' families.
