RIJEKA, Jan 29 (Hina) - The trial of the so-called Gospic group,
which is held at the Rijeka County Court, has been adjourned until
February 6 due to an operation the principal indictee, Tihomir
Oreskovic, must undergo, judge Ika Saric said on Wednesday. #L#
Saric said that Oreskovic was today transferred to Zagreb, where he
would undergo an operation of polyps in his nose.
Due to problems with his sinuses, Oreskovic suffered from headaches
and had difficulty breathing, which was confirmed by prison doctors
and an expert witness. The trial was adjourned last week because
Oreskovic could not follow it.
Tihomir Oreskovic, Ivica Rozic, Mirko Norac, Stjepan Grandic and
Milan Canic are charged with war crimes against civilians in the
Gospic area in 1991.
