ZAGREB, Feb 7 (Hina) - The head of the Office for Social Partnership, Vitomir Begovic, on Friday convened for Feb. 10 a session of a tripartite task force which should harmonise open issues concerning a bill of amendments to the
Labour Act and a proposal for compensation within the social security system.

session of a tripartite task force which should harmonise open
issues concerning a bill of amendments to the Labour Act and a
proposal for compensation within the social security system. #L#
Representatives of the government, unions, and the Croatian
Employers Association have already expressed willingness to
continue seeking the best solution while the bill is in procedure,
especially concerning severance pays, notice periods, the
definition of the small employer, temporary employment contracts,
and appropriate protection mechanisms, the Office said in a
statement.
A law is also being prepared to protect the payment of workers'
claims if an employer has filed for bankruptcy or is insolvent, the
Office said.
It added special measures were also envisaged in the reform of the
justice system to improve the settlement of labour disputes and
develop a system of alternate settlement of collective and
individual labour disputes.
