"We have requested the Interior Ministry to conduct an
investigation into this matter," Bajic told Hina, explaining that
two patients died in Zagreb and one each in Rijeka and Varazdin.
Bajic said that the investigation request was submitted to police
when the state prosecution received information from the Health
Ministry about the death of four patients between January 15 and
31.
Asked if the state prosecution would initiate court proceedings to
stop the doctors' strike, Bajic said that he was inspecting all the
documentation on the strike and monitoring negotiations between
the doctors and Health Ministry. It is too early to say what the
state prosecution will do, Croatia's chief state prosecutor Bajic
said.
