Marko Slisko, 52, was killed near Zagreb's central bus station at
18.15 hours on Thursday. Police are still searching for an unknown
killer who escaped after having fired several shots at Slisko at
point blank range.
Ostojic told Radio 101 that this was most probably a professional
murder and that investigation results would come later.
The police official said Slisko was associated with Zagreb
criminals and was a witness in several court proceedings.
Ostojic, however, did not exclude other possible motives behind
Slisko's execution, one being property ownership disputes.
Marko Slisko was the older brother of Vjeko Slisko, who was killed
in an armed showdown in downtown Zagreb in March 2001.
